Mater and Aurora

Last week we admired the baby chicks on our way into the pumpkin festival. The kids loved them and I did too! They were for sale at the farm, and the best part is that you can donate them back to the farm anytime! Our dog would love to have them as a snack, so we convinced Grammy and Grandpa to babysit some baby chicks for a little while. On Sunday we went to pick them out. Blake chose a black one and named it Mater (shocker) and Emerson picked out a little cream colored one and named it Aurora (another shocker:).

We played with them at Grammy and Grandpas for a while. Aurora was nearly crushed and I thought she might not make it past 1 day with us, but thankfully she pulled through and is doing much better today.

Thanks for being good sports Grammy and Grandpa! Hope these little chicks can handle these 2 plus the 3 cousins that arrive later this week!
