First Day of Preschool

Blake and Emerson's first homework assignment- an "all about me" scrapbook hand to add to the classroom "palm" tree. Funny...we gave our 5th graders a similar assignment!
All set for school!

Blake and Emerson were so excited this morning! They got busy immediately upon entering their classroom. They gave us quick hugs and kisses and didn't look back (aren't they supposed to cry?). Jeremy and I were both so proud of them. After school they told me all about the snack they had. Apparently that was the highlight. I pleaded for more information and  finally Blake mentioned a story about a raccoon (The Kissing Hand) and Emerson met a new friend named Landry. Sounds like a fun first day of school!!!!

P.S. Thank you Wendi for taking care of "our kids" so that I could be with my kids! :)

Meet the Teacher

Last Thursday Jeremy and I took the kids to their very first "Meet the Teacher." Their teacher, Miss Sara, had lots of activities set up for them and got them very excited to start school!

Here is Blake with the assistant, Miss Karen.

Emerson discovered the box with the jewels. I'm sure she'll be going right for the red box during choice time!

Blake has trucks...he'll be just fine! :)

Emerson in the Science center.

OMG! I cannot believe they start school tomorrow! How are they old enough for that? We just finished reading "Twas the Night Before Preschool." Blake asked if he could go to preschool right now. So cute- I'm just glad that they are excited about school and learning! First day of school pics coming soon! :)

Look who's swimming!

At the beginning of the summer Blake and Emerson were not swimmers at all. They wore their life vests and pretty much stayed on the steps. What a difference a summer makes! They now jump in, swim to the other side of the pool and get out all by themselves!  Our afternoons usually consist of pool time. We've also started swimming after dinner which makes bedtime run a lot smoother. :)
The kids have been spending a lot of time with Daddy this week while I get ready for the new school year. I got home yesterday and Blake surprised me with his new skill...he can dive! This picture looks a bit funky, but he actually has really good form!
This is Emerson!
Savannah has also been swimming with us. This is the "doggy treadmill" that Jeremy invented. Poor Savannah:)
Blake thinks it's hysterical.
