Sooo....we were devastated over the loss of Sonora, but we decided that we would wait about a year to get another dog. UNTIL...I saw the cutest little dog on a Boxer Rescue site. I called about the dog, but the dog was already having a trial run with a family and was soon adopted. The seed was planted in my head. From that day on I checked the dog classifieds every morning. I called about a few, but for three weeks there wasn't one that I saw that I really, really wanted. Jeremy told me every day that I was crazy and we're not getting a dog. On Thursday, March 8, I looked at the classifieds and FELL.IN.LOVE! There was this sweet little brown, fawn, female boxer. Born on Christmas. 10 weeks old. Last of the litter. I called the breeder when my students were at Art. She told me that another family was coming to look at her but she was still available. I called Jeremy and BEGGED him to take the trip over to the west side to "look" at her. A little irritated with me, he agreed. He went to see her. She kissed him, and....
...meet our new baby, Savannah Noelle Rhodes!
Such a love |
Our house feels complete again:) |
A boy just needs a dog |
We've spent all week going on walks, hiking, and visiting parks. |
Blake LOVES to play fetch with his doggy.
Emmie-Belle prefers Savannah when she is sleeping.
We had dinner at Bob and Peggy's house last night. Savannah met her Grammy, Poppy Bobby, cousins, and Uncle Poncho. Look how gorgeous Peggy's garden is!
Daddy, who didn't want a dog, is also in love! |
I just put the kids down for their nap. As I was closing Emerson's door she said, "Mommy. I think Savannah is really special." I think we all agree! :) |
