12 month homework

At our 12 month doctor's appointment, the pediatrician gave us a little homework. I think we are doing well...for the most part.

Transition to whole milk- check
Sleep through the night with no bottles- BIG CHECK
No more bottles- failing miserably:(

They drink water and juice with a sippy cup, but when it comes to milk they ONLY want their "ba ba". I was going to try to transition them over my spring break. After day 1 I decided that I would hold off and torture my children another time with this task....sigh....any suggestions?

Spring Break should definitely last more than a week! I had such a fun week with the babies. Back to school tomorrow:( The good news is- one more quarter until the summer. I cannot wait! I miss these little munchkins so much throughout the week. More good news....next year I'm job sharing 3rd grade and will only work half the time--YEAH-- I will have every Thursday and Friday off!!!

Fun With Bubbles

B & E love bubbles! Today we went to a nearby park where they have "bubble blast" a few times a month. There are bubble machines, bubble makers and wands, balls and hula hoops to play with. Blake and Emerson loved popping the bubbles and watching all the kids playing. Emerson said "bubbles" for the first time and then kept repeating her new word. After the bubble blast we headed to the swings. They are now napping soundly.

Jeremy and I took the kids to the Ostrich Festival today. We had fun walking around and watching all the rides that we will be able to go on in a few years. But, the most fun was sitting in the grassy area watching the kids walking (and falling) and laughing:) Blake has been taking steps for about 2 months. But, starting in the last few days, he only wants to walk. He usually takes about 12 steps before falling. But, now he has learned to pick himself right back up and continues walking. I didn't see him crawl at all today! I think we can officially say that he's a walker...good job little man! Little missy is right behind him, but if she needs to get somewhere quickly she crawls:) It won't be long, I'm afraid, until they are both running....in opposite directions!

Ranch Weekend

Jeremy and I took the kids to the ranch for a much needed relaxing family weekend. It was nice being in the cool, fresh air. The babies had fun seeing the horses and cows and Sonora played and ran all weekend. It was a wonderful mini-vacation!
