IT'S A BOY AND A GIRL!!!!!!

Sugar and spice and everything nice,
We've been blessed- not once, but twice.
On Saturday we went to take a peek,
To see the parts that became visible this week.
Baby A is a boy! I cannot wait,
To take him on our first mommy/son date.
Trucks and trains, fishing and ball,
Wounds to kiss after all of those falls.
Baby B is a precious little girl!
Dolls and dancing, ribbons and curls.
Daddy is ready to chase the boys away,
Forever at home is where she will stay.
We are so excited and bursting with joy,
At the news our sweet little girl and boy!

A Fun Day

I told my students the BIG news today-
actually I made them work for it!

Sweet messages from a student.

One student's picture of me at the hospital.
I think I'll wear a dress like that!

Another picture of me at the hospital.
I'm glad God is watching over:)

Today was so much fun telling the staff and students at my school. The news spread like wild fire around the school and I had students stopping by my classroom all day. My class was beyond excited. They had the sweetest reactions and LOTS of questions! They are already talking to the babies and wanting to name them!

14 weeks and counting

Well- here it is...my ever growing belly. It's not too big now, but my doctor recently told me that I would be getting very big very quickly. At 14 weeks, I'm sailing into my second trimester. I'm feeling great except for being a little tired in the afternoon. My appetite has definitely come back full force. The babies are now around 3 1/4 to 4 inches, the size of a fist. I will get an exact measurement when I go to the doctor next week.

The past few weeks have been so much fun sharing with all of our family and friends! Next week I will fill in my students and the staff at my school. I'll try to be better about updating the blog sooner this time!

11 Week Ultrasound

Baby A

Baby B

Our little cherubs!
Today was our 11 week appointment with the specialist. They did the nuchal translucency exam to check for abnormalities. Both babies looked great and they are in the lowest risk group for down syndrome. They both grew a lot since our last appointment. Baby A is now 44mm and Baby B is 42mm. It was amazing to see an ultrasound that actually look like little people!
I am actually feeling really good. I head straight to the porcelain bowl every morning right when I wake up, but that's about it for sickness. I am usually pretty tired in the evening and go to bed around 8:00. So far, so good...

BIG NEWS (X2)

The only day more exciting than my wedding day and the day I found out I was pregnant was the day Jeremy and I went to see our first ultrasound. I had my list of questions and I was ready to see the first picture (and heartbeat) of the newest member of our little family. The nurse practitioner began the ultrasound. She was showing us all my body parts on the screen and then we could see a little flutter. She told us that was our baby. Then she asked me to lean back a little more. She said, "Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" I had no idea what I was seeing. Then, a moment I'll never forget. She said, "There are two in there. You're having twins!!!!" I don't remember too much after that. I started crying and I've never seen such a smile and excitement on Jeremy's face. Then, he was worried about me. Was it a good cry, bad cry? I assured him definately a good cry- with a little shock mixed in! They both had heartbeats and looked good and healthy. One is 5.9mm and one is 7.5mm. I am about 7 weeks along and have a due date of March 6. Needless to say I forget to pull out my list of questions after the big news. Maybe next time:)

WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!

This is how I found out....I took a pregnancy test on June 24 right when I woke up. It was a very long 2 minutes with my dogs staring at me. "Oh my gosh!"- there is a plus, or is it? The line was so faint. But yes, I decided, it is definitely a plus. We are going to have a baby!!!! I went to lunch with my Aunt Barbi and chatted with her about how exciting it is that my brother is having a baby in November and my sister is due in January. Two babies in 3 months. I was thinking- just wait until everyone knows there will be 3 babies! I took another pregnancy test when I got home just to be sure...still a plus! Then it was time to make the first big decision- how to tell Jeremy. I had all kinds of ideas; a special dinner, a gift, balloons, a nice card, a beer, maybe even a scavenger hunt. But, right when I saw Jeremy I blurted out, grinning from ear to ear, "I took a pregnancy test and it was positive!" I saw about 30 different reactions in 30 seconds. "Oh my gosh, really?, are you sure?, wow, WOW!, I need a new car, this is great!" By this time I was crying. It was all so unbelievable. We are going to be parents!
