Life with 2 two year olds....
is fun and crazy!!!! It used to be that the days were long and the months flew by. Those days are over. The days/months/years are all flying by. I cannot believe that Blake and Emerson are already two! They are turning into these amazing little people...no more baby stuff! They are putting two, three, sometimes even four words together and they can communicate everything they need to. Sometimes we need to do some code work to figure out what they're saying but usually it is very obvious. When we're not sure we ask them to show us and they do it really well. They think it's funny when we can't understand which is a good thing because I know it could also be frustrating. We have put away the high chairs (sniff), they are out of cribs (sniff), and they are becoming very independent (sniff, sniff). Most parents are excited for these little milestones, but they make me sad. I'm loving the wonderful people they are becoming, but I also miss my little babies. I'm sure every mom knows what I mean!
Our Bud Bud Blake is everything boy. He loves trucks, tractors, buses, trains, airplanes, helicopters, motorcycles, etc. etc... all types of transportation. His favorite activities include riding his bike with his helmet on and pushing one of his many vehicles around the house. He is busy, busy, busy, and full of activity morning, noon, and night. Daddy is definitely Blake's hero. Blake loves to watch Jeremy fixing things and follows him around the house the moment he comes home from work. Blake is still very sweet and laid back but he's picked up some temper tantrum strategies from his sister lately (thanks, Em). He is now 29 pounds (60%) and 35 1/2 inches (75%). He looks like (or is) a little boy. I'm amazed at how tall he is. The chub thighs are disappearing and he's starting to gain definition in his arms and back. The one thing that has not changed are his sparkling blue eyes and delicious smile that light up every room he enters.
Little Miss Emmie is also little miss independent. She is very opinionated and knows exactly what she wants. It's all about choices for her these days; fork or spoon? one book or two? boots or tennis shoes? blueberries or kiwi? pink or blue bow? etc. etc. Occasionally if she doesn't get what she wants she will throw herself on the ground and give a dramatic temper tantrum show. We just put her in her room and tell her to come out when she is all done. This upsets her because she loves to put on a show with an audience, but it is also boring to her so the tantrum usually only lasts a few minutes. Then she will come out of her room and say "all done!":) Emerson likes pretend and make-believe play like cooking, playing doctor, and grocery shopping. She enjoys playing with her friends and anticipates the good times she will have when we get together with friends. She is repeating everything that we say and her vocabulary has taken off. I love that she can recall and tell us some details about her day. Emerson is a Momma's girl and loves to help me out around the house. She has a regular chore which is to feed Sonora. She now weighs 23 pounds, 4 oz (10%) and is 34" (50%). We are sure having fun with these little ones!
